company our platform, SocioConnect, helps enterprise retailers manage and measure local
social campaigns at scale while maintaining brand control and compliance. Head-office teams
can centrally monitor campaigns across thousands of outlets while local managers use tools to
engage their communities and drive in-store sales.

Our platform is a modern JavaScript stack hosted on AWS. The data layer is managed using
MongoDB Atlas as the primary document store, with AWS DynamoDB and AWS RDS used
where appropriate for fast lookups and relational needs.

Role Overview

We have developed a wonderful dataset from our customers and want to unlock the power of it!
We’re hiring a pragmatic, hands-on Data Scientist to lead the analytical vision for SocioConnect.
You’ll work with a growing, multi-dimensional data set, turning that data into predictive models
and actionable recommendations, and partner closely with engineering to productionise models
and embed analytics into the product. This role is both strategic (defining analytics direction and
workflows) and tactical (building models, advising engineers, and delivering clear user-facing
intelligence).

Key Responsibilities

Data exploration & insight: Dive into SocioLocal’s dataset to discover patterns, correlations and signals across content performance, audience behaviour and business outcomes.
Predictive modelling: Build robust predictive models and statistical solutions that directly inform content strategy and commercial decisions.
Contextual data integration: Identify and incorporate relevant external/contextual data sources to improve prediction accuracy and relevance.
Production & pipelines: Partner with engineers to design, guide and validate data pipelines, model training workflows and production deployment so insights are delivered reliably and efficiently.
Analytics product design: Lead the analytical vision for features, design workflows that convert multi-dimensional data into clear, actionable intelligence for end users.
Communication & adoption: Translate technical findings into clear recommendations for non-technical stakeholders and help the product and commercial teams adopt data-driven processes.

What we’re looking for (experience & skills)

Proven data scientist experience: working with medium to large, growing, multi-dimensional datasets.
Strong coding proficiency: in Python or similar languages, including building models and guiding production-level workflows.
Deep ML / statistics knowledge — sound understanding of predictive modelling, statistical inference and evaluation metrics.
Contextual data experience — demonstrable experience integrating external or contextual data to strengthen predictions.
Data engineering familiarity — knowledge of NoSQL / large-scale databases, with the ability to advise engineers efficient data structures and queries and with actionable guidance for pipelines and production workflows.
Collaboration & communication — track record of turning complex data into clear, actionable insights for decision-makers or end users and explaining technical findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Model impact: measurable lift in target metrics (e.g., prediction accuracy, campaign uplift, engagement improvement) for features you own.
Reliability: production model uptime, latency and stability; low incidence of data-related incidents.
User adoption: platform users act on model-driven insights and recommendations.
