About SocioLocal

SocioLocal enables multi-location businesses to excel at local digital marketing. As a SaaS
company our platform, SocioConnect, helps enterprise retailers manage and measure local
social campaigns at scale while maintaining brand control and compliance. Head-office teams
can centrally monitor campaigns across thousands of outlets while local managers use tools to
engage their communities and drive in-store sales.

Our platform is a modern JavaScript stack hosted on AWS — Product Managers/Owners here
will need technical empathy and comfort working with cloud/JS systems.

Role Overview

As SocioLocal grows, we’re hiring our first Product team member to take on a blended
Product Manager and Product Owner role. You’ll set up the day-to-day product practice, own
delivery for core product areas, and be the primary customer-facing product person while
working very closely with engineering and the CTO. You will translate customer & commercial
needs into a prioritised backlog, coordinate releases and measure outcomes — all while helping
shape SocioLocal’s product direction. This is a hands-on, impact-led role for someone who
enjoys both customer contact and technical delivery.

This is a delivery-centric PO role with strategic influence — you will get things shipped and
ensure each release improves customer outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Product leadership & delivery
  • Define and own the product roadmap: Translate company strategy, customer insights, and commercial goals into a clear, prioritized multi-quarter roadmap.
  • Quarterly and annual planning: Facilitate planning sessions with engineering, Sales, and Customer Success to ensure roadmap reflects priorities and capacity.
  • Write and maintain clear user stories, acceptance criteria and supporting specifications; ensure the team understands the “why”.
  • Define, prioritise and own the backlog for assigned product areas; keep stories and acceptance criteria clear and sprint-ready.
  • Accept engineering work and own post-release validation.
  • Introduce product practices (refinement, acceptance, metrics, decision logs) as the product function is established.
Customer discovery & commercial alignment
  • Run discovery with customers, Sales and Customer Success; validate problems and gather evidence to prioritise work
  • Present roadmap and release outcomes to stakeholders and incorporate feedback
Technical partnership
  • Work daily with engineering (internal & outsourced) and the CTO to scope work, manage technical debt, and define non-functional requirements (scalability, security, reliability).
  • Ensure features meet acceptance criteria and that releases are monitored for stability.
Measure & iterate
  • Define success metrics for features, instrument analytics, run experiments and use data to refine the backlog and roadmap.

Outcomes & success measures

  • Delivery predictability: committed vs delivered per sprint.
  • Quality: post-release incidents and mean time to resolve issues.
  • Customer impact: adoption, retention, NPS/CSAT improvements for owned features.
  • Stakeholder satisfaction: Sales/Operations feedback on delivery and product value.

Day-to-day / typical week

  • Backlog refinement and sprint ceremonies.
  • Customer interviews / CS meetings to collect product feedback.
  • Story writing, acceptance testing and release sign-offs.
  • Data review: adoption, incidents, experiment results.
  • Coordination with CTO / Tech Lead on architecture and prioritisation.

What We’re Looking For

Essential
  • 2–3+ years experience in product/PO roles in SaaS with direct delivery ownership
  • Proven experience being customer-facing and converting customer needs into deliverable product work.
  • Strong Agile practice: backlog management, user stories, sprint ceremonies.
  • Comfortable with product analytics and evidence-based decision making
  • Technical empathy — able to work constructively with engineers about APIs, architecture and cloud trade-offs (experience with JS/AWS a strong advantage).
Desirable
  • Experience with enterprise / multi-location / MarTech products.
  • Worked with outsourced engineering teams
  • Exposure to observability/experimentation tools (Mixpanel/Amplitude, Sentry, etc.)
  • Comfortable with product analytics and evidence-based decision making
  • Technical empathy — able to work constructively with engineers about APIs, architecture and cloud trade-offs (experience with JS/AWS a strong advantage).
